Pastor David Ibiyeomie Urges Christians to Embrace Integrity
The founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has urged Christians, especially young people, to make integrity a defining part of their character.
Ibiyeomie gave the advice during a sermon while explaining how honesty can influence a person’s future. He said people who demonstrate trustworthiness can earn greater opportunities and responsibilities.
He illustrated his point with a simple financial example. According to him, anyone who receives ₦45,000 for a purchase worth ₦43,000 should return the remaining ₦2,000.
The pastor said people should not assume that wealthy individuals will overlook small amounts of money. He explained that such moments can reveal whether a person deserves greater trust.
“If they can trust you, you have a future,” he said.

Ibiyeomie also raised concerns about integrity within the church. He criticised situations where people receive money or other resources for a purpose but fail to account properly for what they have been given.
The cleric said academic qualifications alone may no longer set young people apart. He noted that many graduates now possess strong academic records, including first-class degrees.
He therefore urged young Christians to develop qualities beyond academic achievement. Ibiyeomie said integrity can distinguish a person in a competitive environment and make others willing to work with them.
He encouraged members of his congregation to reject dishonest practices in their daily lives. The pastor said Christians should build reputations so strong that employers and other members of society can associate them with reliability.
Ibiyeomie maintained that genuine trust can create opportunities that certificates alone may not provide. He urged young people to understand that their conduct can influence how others perceive their abilities and future potential.
