CAC Raises JABU Monthly Funding to 30m

The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) has increased its monthly financial support to Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Osun State, from N20 million to N30 million. The church’s president, Pastor Samuel Oladele, disclosed this during the university’s 20th anniversary celebration.

Oladele spoke with journalists on Thursday at the university’s campus in Ikeji-Arakeji. He explained that the increased funding reflects CAC’s commitment to sustaining the institution and supporting its development.

The church president said the university’s establishment required years of planning, prayer and sacrifice. He noted that a Planning and Implementation Committee, inaugurated on January 31, 2002, under Professor A. M. A. Imevbore, led efforts to turn the vision into a functioning university.

According to Oladele, the committee worked to ensure that the institution met regulatory standards and could provide quality education to successive generations of students. He explained that CAC established JABU to contribute to national development beyond its spiritual responsibilities. The university aims to develop knowledge, strengthen character and prepare students for leadership and professional service.

Oladele also highlighted the significance of Ikeji-Arakeji, the university’s host community. The town holds historical importance for CAC because of its connection to the prophetic call of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola in October 1928.

Reflecting on the university’s beginnings, the church president said CAC started the project without sufficient financial resources. However, faith in God sustained the vision and helped the institution grow over the years. He described the church’s financial contributions as evidence of its commitment to the university’s continued progress.

Despite the monthly support, Oladele expressed hope that JABU would strengthen its capacity to operate sustainably as it expands. He also described the institution’s first two decades as a period of growth and achievement.

The CAC president stressed that JABU’s mission extends beyond awarding academic qualifications. According to him, the university seeks to equip graduates with entrepreneurial skills, professional competence, strong moral values and a commitment to serving society. He added that the institution’s entrepreneurial focus prepares students to create opportunities rather than depend solely on existing jobs.

Oladele commended the university’s management, CAC members in Nigeria and abroad, the host community and other stakeholders for their contributions to its development.

The anniversary celebration carries the theme, “Two Decades of Divine Grace, Growth and Glory,” reflecting the institution’s journey and aspirations for the future.
