Bishop Thomas Aremu Urges Husbands to Support Wives Financially

Bishop Thomas Aremu, a former senior pastor and vice president of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has urged husbands to provide financial support for their wives and attend to their needs.

Aremu gave the advice while speaking at MLF Day 1, according to a video circulating online. He said husbands should recognize the responsibilities their wives handle within the home.

The former Winners’ Chapel leader said women should receive financial support from their husbands, particularly when they contribute to caring for the family and raising children.

He encouraged men to be generous with their wives and avoid creating unnecessary financial difficulties at home. Aremu said giving a wife money can also strengthen the relationship between couples.

“Women like money, so if you have money, spend it on them. Give her money. She is the one taking care of the children, and she will like you,” he said.

Aremu also explained how he responds when his wife asks him for money. He said he may first ask about the purpose, but he would still provide it when she insists on receiving the money.

“Number one, she needs to have some rest. Number two, she is my wife; she is not somebody else’s wife, and I have the money,” he said.

The bishop further advised husbands to support their wives when they want personal items. He cautioned men against automatically describing such desires as signs of worldliness.

Aremu specifically mentioned jewelry as an example. He said a woman’s interest in buying gold should not automatically be treated as evidence of carnality.

“She may see gold and say she wants to buy it. Don’t say carnality. No. The street of heaven is made up of gold, so it doesn’t destroy godliness,” he said.
