Pastor David Ibiyeomie Warns Christians Against Lack of Integrity
Pastor David Ibiyeomie has urged Christians to return to the fear of God, warning that religious identity alone does not make a person honest or trustworthy.
Ibiyeomie made the remarks while speaking on trust, accountability and Christian conduct. He stressed that church membership, speaking in tongues or publicly identifying as a Christian does not automatically prove a person’s integrity.
“Today, you can’t trust even those who are tongue-speaking Christians. In fact, they use church to even deceive you,” he said.
The pastor said the true fear of God should influence how Christians handle money, responsibilities and other people’s property. He noted that a person who genuinely reveres God should resist the temptation to take what does not belong to them.
“This money is not my own. Why am I going to take this money? It does not belong to me,” he explained.

Ibiyeomie described dishonesty and attempts to manipulate financial dealings as signs of a deeper integrity problem. He urged Christians to examine their actions rather than rely on religious appearances.
He also clarified that the fear of God does not simply mean being afraid of divine punishment. Rather, he described it as a deep reverence for God that guides a person’s choices and behaviour. “Anything God says is final, no matter how you feel!” he said.
According to Ibiyeomie, genuine reverence for God should produce humility, honesty and obedience. He said Christians must be willing to follow God’s Word even when doing so is difficult or personally inconvenient.
His message centred on the need for Christians to restore integrity to their daily lives. He urged believers to let their conduct reflect their faith and to show the fear of God through their dealings with others.
