Nigerian Baptist Convention Begins New Era With Pastor Olushola Idowu

The Nigerian Baptist Convention has entered a new leadership phase with Rev. Dr. David Olusola Idowu confirmed as President at the 2026 Convention in Abuja. He succeeds Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji, whose tenure emphasized structure, growth, and continuity. According to Nigerian Baptist Convention.

The Convention’s defined leadership system continues to ensure smooth transitions and stability. Idowu, formerly Senior Pastor of Ajayi Dahunsi Memorial Baptist Church in Lagos and leader within the Lagos East Baptist Conference, brings respected ministry experience. Delegates affirmed his leadership with unity and calm, reflecting shared commitment to the Convention’s mission.
