Bishop Oyedepo’s Recognition Made Me Work Harder Bishop Aremu Says

Bishop Thomas Aremu has urged church leaders to recognise people who remain committed to their assignments, saying appreciation can encourage workers to put in greater effort.

He gave the advice while speaking to church leaders, where he encouraged them to acknowledge faithful service through commendation and appropriate rewards.

Aremu recalled his experience while serving under Bishop David Oyedepo in Ibadan. He said Oyedepo gave him a Peugeot 505, despite already having a vehicle from his civil service years.

As the ministry expanded, he said he later received other vehicles, including a Mercedes. Aremu explained that such gestures made him feel valued by his leader.

He said the recognition strengthened his motivation to work harder and remain committed to his responsibilities. According to him, knowing that his efforts were noticed made a significant difference.

Aremu therefore advised leaders to pay attention to the contributions of people working with them. He said leaders should not assume that faithful service should go unnoticed.

He also encouraged leaders to issue letters of commendation when appropriate. He added that workers should receive tangible benefits whenever they have earned them.

The bishop stressed that recognition can strengthen loyalty and encourage people to give their best. He said leaders who appreciate their workers can create an environment where commitment receives proper encouragement.

Aremu’s message focused on the importance of appreciation in leadership. He urged church leaders to build a culture where faithful service receives acknowledgement rather than being taken for granted.
