RCCG Announces Summit to Advance Kingdom Education

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is preparing to hold an education summit to explore ways of strengthening Christian learning and preserving biblical principles in schools.

Pastor Pius Isiekwene, the Christ the Redeemer’s Schools Management Secretary, announced the plan in a statement. According to him, the gathering will take place on November 5 at the church’s international headquarters in Redemption City, Mowe, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Pastor Folu Adeboye, wife of the RCCG General Overseer, will convene the summit. Organisers have chosen the theme, “Revisiting Kingdom Education: The Role of Stakeholders,” for the event.

The discussions will focus on how Christian schools can incorporate scriptural teachings into classroom instruction and administrative practices. Participants will also consider funding challenges and ways to improve collaboration among those responsible for Christian education.

Other planned sessions will examine the differences between secular humanism and a biblical understanding of the world. The programme will also address Christian apologetics, innovative teaching methods, leadership development and long-term approaches to sustaining faith-based education.

The organisers explained that kingdom education aims to nurture children beyond academic achievement. Its approach combines intellectual development with spiritual growth and moral instruction to prepare young people for responsible participation in society.

The summit is expected to attract teachers, school proprietors, education administrators, senior pastors and other professionals involved in the church’s educational activities. Their discussions will centre on the contributions each group can make to improving the quality and reach of Christian schooling.

Speaking at the church’s headquarters, Adeboye stressed the importance of providing children with an education that reflects Christian beliefs. She noted that the pressures and influences confronting young people today make the subject particularly important.

According to her, a kingdom-centred approach can help children understand their identity, appreciate their roots and develop a clearer sense of purpose.

RCCG operates approximately 350 nursery and primary schools in Nigeria and other countries through Christ the Redeemer’s Schools Management, its formal education agency. The proposed summit will provide an opportunity to discuss how the church can strengthen this educational network and advance its Christian values.
