Bishop Oyedepo Unveils 22 Transformers for The Ark

David Oyedepo has revealed that 22 transformers will power The Ark when the massive worship center opens in November. He made this known during a recent service at the Faith Tabernacle. According to him, the new facility requires a huge electricity supply because of its size and advanced features. As a result, the church has put strong power plans in place ahead of the dedication.
The Ark stands as one of the largest church auditoriums in the country. The building features a 109000 capacity main bowl spread across four floors. In addition, it includes a 5000 capacity youth church and a 20000 seat children church. To move worshippers with ease, the structure will operate 129 elevators, travelators and escalators. These systems will support elderly worshippers and those who need special assistance. Because of this heavy demand, leaders concluded that the existing power supply would not be enough.
Previously, Canaanland installed a 15 megawatt power plant in 2016. However, church authorities say that plant cannot meet the new energy needs of The Ark. Therefore, they have begun work on a much larger power facility. Reports indicate that the new plant will generate about 80 megawatts. Once completed, it will supply electricity to the entire Canaanland community. This includes The Ark, Covenant University, Canaan City and possibly parts of Ota.

In addition to conventional power, the Dome will draw one megawatt of solar energy. The roof design will also collect rain water, which will help flush the 1200 restrooms through a gravity system. These features show a focus on efficiency and sustainability. Furthermore, church staff who work within the twin tower mission headquarters will rely on steady electricity for daily operations, since using the staircase may not always be practical.
Oyedepo also stated that Canaanland has not recorded a total electricity blackout since 1999. This claim stands out, especially in a country where power supply often remains unstable. With the installation of 22 transformers and a new large scale power plant, the church aims to maintain that record.
As November approaches, attention now turns to the completion of the new facility. If delivered as planned, The Ark will not only rank among the largest worship centers in Nigeria but also among the most energy prepared.
