Pastor Poju Oyemade Urges Believers to Honour Those Who Helped Them

Pastor Poju Oyemade founder of The Covenant Nation has urged believers to remain grateful to the people whose sacrifices, guidance and support contributed to their growth.

Oyemade said showing honour to those who played important roles in a person’s journey can influence the direction of their future.

Oyemade said intentional gratitude towards those who have contributed to a person’s journey can bring a significant change in their life.

The pastor began with the importance of honouring parents, referencing the biblical instruction to honour one’s father and mother. He noted that the principle should also extend to others who have contributed to a person’s development.

According to him, many achievements are made possible by the sacrifices of parents, teachers, mentors and other people who provide encouragement, education and opportunities.

Oyemade encouraged people to deliberately remember those who have supported them at different stages of their lives. “Write down everybody that has helped,” he said.

He also urged believers not to overlook teachers and other individuals whose encouragement may have appeared insignificant at the time but later proved valuable.

Using ministry as an example, Oyemade said people often enjoy results because others made sacrifices and laid foundations before them. “You are reaping where others have laboured,” he said.

He warned against allowing success to make people forget those who contributed to their journey.

Oyemade’s message centred on the need for gratitude and honour, stressing that people should recognise those who planted seeds before they began enjoying the results.
