Pastor Iren Says Celebration Church Has 300 People on Payroll
Pastor Emmanuel Iren has highlighted the role large churches can play in creating jobs and supporting livelihoods, revealing that Celebration Church has nearly 300 people on its monthly payroll. Iren made the disclosure while speaking about the importance of structure in leadership.
According to him, leading a growing church involves more than spiritual gifts, grace and anointing. He said leaders must also build systems that can support the people who depend on the organization.
Iren said the church’s responsibility extends beyond spiritual matters, noting that many people rely on its structure for their livelihoods. He added that Celebration Church has nearly 300 people on its monthly payroll.
His remarks drew attention to the organisational responsibilities that come with running a large church. Such churches often require staff across areas such as administration, media, communications, music, technical production, finance, events, facilities and security.
Iren said the number of people who depend on an organisation makes effective leadership and structure essential. He stressed that spiritual leadership must go alongside sound management of people, resources and responsibilities.

The pastor also linked the idea of structure to personal responsibility among young adults. He said young people who want their parents to recognise their progress must demonstrate independence through their everyday actions.
Iren noted that professional ambitions alone may not convince parents that a young adult is ready to take responsibility.
He described the situation of young adults who still live with their parents and struggle to prove that they are becoming independent, despite depending on their parents for basic responsibilities at home.
He said simple actions at home can also reveal a person’s level of responsibility. Iren gave the example of a young person taking the initiative to buy basic household items without being instructed.
He added that some young adults pursue their work or personal ventures without taking responsibility for even simple household needs, such as buying bread or other basic items.

The pastor said such actions form part of a person’s track record and can influence how others assess their readiness for independence. He argued that parents may consider a young person’s overall conduct before accepting claims about career progress or financial independence.
Iren ultimately connected personal responsibility with organisational leadership. He said both require structure, initiative and a willingness to take responsibility.
For him, effective leadership is not only about having a vision. It also involves creating systems and demonstrating responsibility in everyday life.
