Pastor Adeboye: Sack Security Chiefs If Terror Fails In 90 Days

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Federal Government to give Nigeria’s security chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to end terrorism in the country or resign from office, according to Vanguard.

He made the statement in a video shared on X on Tuesday, where he expressed concern over the worsening security situation in the country, including ongoing attacks, banditry, and kidnappings.

Adeboye said government must demand clear and measurable results from security leaders handling the fight against terrorism. He stressed that accountability should be enforced if progress is not achieved within a set timeframe.

In his remarks, he called on the government to give security chiefs a strict 90-day deadline to eliminate terrorist threats and said they should resign if they fail to meet the target.

The cleric also urged authorities to expand their focus beyond armed attackers to those allegedly financing and supporting terrorist operations, regardless of their influence or status.

According to him, dismantling the wider support structure behind violent groups is essential to achieving lasting peace and stability.

Adeboye further recalled advising a former Nigerian president on a similar deadline-based approach to security operations. He noted that although the directive was initially implemented, enforcement weakened after the timeline elapsed.

He said this experience showed the importance of strong political will and consistent follow-through in national security decisions.

The comments come amid renewed concerns over insecurity in several parts of Nigeria. There are increasing calls for stronger government action to address the crisis, according to Vanguard.
