Christianity Not Subordinate to Any Religion-Pastor Enenche

Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor Paul Enenche, has rejected claims that Christianity is subordinate to any other religion in Nigeria. He also criticised comments attributed to Islamic cleric Sheikh Yahya Jingir.

Enenche spoke during the church’s Sunday service at its headquarters in Abuja. He reacted to the controversy surrounding Jingir’s recent remarks and insisted that Christians should not be treated as inferior to followers of another faith.

The pastor said Christians live in large numbers across Nigeria. He also warned against statements that could portray the Christian community as less important in the country.

Enenche further cautioned against taking Christians for granted. He described the church as a major force in Nigeria and criticised comments that could deepen religious divisions.

He questioned the contribution of those promoting divisive views to national development. According to him, such statements can create unnecessary tension among Nigerians.

The cleric also called on security agencies to monitor public comments that could encourage violence. He warned that reckless remarks could threaten peace and national stability.

Enenche urged religious and political leaders to act responsibly. He said provocative statements should not be allowed to damage peaceful relations among Nigerians.

“I was away for the crusade this past week, and I heard from a friend what was going on where I think an insane man came up to say that Christianity is subordinate to any other religion in this country,” he said.

He added, “Christianity is not secondary, and no group of religious fanatics will ever make it secondary.” Enenche also urged Nigerians to look around the country and recognise the large Christian population across different regions.
