Military Officer Testifies at Glory Dome: “We’ve Been Ruggedized in Training; Now I’ve Come to Be Firerized by My Father in the Lord”

At the Glory Dome, faith and discipline met in a heartfelt testimony from 2nd Lieutenant E.U. Akogu, a newly commissioned officer in the Nigerian military. His story drew applause as he shared how divine intervention turned repeated disappointments into triumph.

According to Lt. Akogu, the journey to wearing the military uniform was long and filled with setbacks. “For years, I tried to get into the military, but every attempt seemed to end without success,” he recalled. His first application for the Direct Short Service Commission placed him on the reserve list a waiting position that brought months of uncertainty.

Then, just after the deadline for reserve candidates had passed, a sudden call came. “By that time, I had moved on. But the call came unexpectedly, and I was told to report the next day,” he said. Confused but trusting, he joined the midnight Commanding Day prayers, where a prophetic word gave him boldness to proceed.

“The word said, ‘Someone here is going for something like an interview, go with confidence, don’t be afraid. God has gone ahead of you.’ That was my confirmation,” Akogu said with a smile.

On arriving at the academy gates, he was told, “We’ve been expecting you.” From that moment, he said, grace paved the way. “God saw me through the training. It was favor upon favor.”

Lt. Akogu, a member of the Sanctuary Keepers Department specifically serving as a toilet worker said the prayers and support of his unit kept him strong throughout the rigorous training. “Even while I was away, I knew the church and my family were praying for me. That sustained me,” he said.

With visible gratitude, the young officer concluded his testimony by giving all glory to God. “We’ve been ruggedized in military training,” he declared, “and now I’ve come to be fired up by my father in the Lord.”

His testimony stood as a reminder of faith, perseverance, and divine favor a story of how God’s timing never fails.
