Bishop Oyedepo: Breaking Free from Life’s Struggles
In a recent Facebook video, Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, delivered a thought-provoking message on why many people continue to struggle in life.
Known for his practical teachings on faith, discipline, and prosperity, Bishop Oyedepo shed light on the deeper causes of hardship and stagnation that affect individuals today.
According to him, struggles are rarely a matter of destiny but often a result of choices. He emphasized that life operates by principles, and ignoring those principles inevitably leads to frustration.
“Struggles come when people neglect responsibility, despise wisdom, and refuse to apply the truth of God’s Word,” he noted.
Bishop Oyedepo highlighted several key reasons people remain trapped in cycles of difficulty:
- Neglecting God’s Word – He pointed out that many want blessings without obedience. When biblical principles are ignored, life becomes harder than it should be.
- Lack of Discipline – From finances to personal growth, indiscipline is one of the greatest killers of destiny. Without self-control, resources and opportunities slip away.
- Wrong Associations – Walking with the wrong people leads to wrong choices. Bishop Oyedepo urged listeners to build relationships that inspire growth and align with God’s purpose.
- Failure to Embrace Hard Work – He reminded his audience that prayer is powerful, but it does not replace diligence. God blesses the work of our hands, not idleness.
- Pride and Unteachability – Many struggle because they refuse correction or despise counsel, shutting themselves off from growth.
In his closing charge, Bishop Oyedepo encouraged believers to return to God’s ways, live by kingdom principles, and practice discipline in every area of life. He stressed that God never created anyone to live in struggle, but choices determine outcomes.

His words serve as a reminder that prosperity and fulfillment are not products of chance but of consistent obedience, discipline, and alignment with divine order.
For anyone currently facing difficulties, Bishop Oyedepo’s message is clear: examine your choices, return to God’s principles, and embrace responsibility — your story can change for good.
