TOPIC: HUMAN RECOMMENDATION (I)
MEMORISE: Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men (Proverbs 22:29).
EXPOSITION
Today, many seek connections and recommendations without the necessary qualifications. We often prioritise “who we know” over “what we know,” focusing more on mercy, favour and grace rather than skill. In the Bible, those who stood before kings were always skilled in various areas. Our text underscores a man who excelled in his work. Excellent spirit is not for the idle and lazy ones, but the hardworking man (TLB). Our God is not a mediocre. In addition to being captivating, the creation story also reveals that our God is diligent (cf. Gen. 2:1-2).
To show His diligence here on earth, our Lord Jesus said, My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working (Jn. 5:17 NIV). To emphasise the place of timing in our work, He further says, All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us…, for there is little time left before the night falls… (9:4 TLB).
Do you see yourself in that description at work? If you were given an appraisal form, do you think you’d be recommended? Only those who meet the requirements will be recommended to stand before the king.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, forgive me for being lazy and idle.
2. Lord, help me to excel in my work, studies and career.
3. Pray for CAC worldwide, our father in the Lord, and other officers at the various levels as led by the Spirit of God.
4. Pray for peace in everywhere there’s war all over the world, and pray for a better NIGERIA
