[World Letter Writing Day]
TOPIC: THE FOUNTAIN OF UNDERSTANDING
MEMORISE
Let my cry come before You, O LORD: Give me understanding according to Your word (Psalm 119:169).
READ: Psalm 119:97-104
[97]. Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
[98]. You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me.
[99]. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.
[100]. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Your precepts.
[101. I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Your word.
[102]. I have not departed from Your judgments, for You Yourself have taught me.
[103]. How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
[104]. Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.
EXPOSITION
Today, as we celebrate World Letter Writing Day, let us reflect on the most life-giving “letter” ever written: God’s Word. In Psalm 119-97-104, the psalmist reveals his deep love and devotion to the Scripture. He describes it as a fountain of understanding that refreshes and nourishes his soul. God’s Word provides wisdom, guidance, and insight, lighting the path of those who study it diligently.
PREVIOUS DEVOTIONAL
The psalmist declares, “Oh, how I love Your law!” His delight comes from the way God’s Word gives clarity and guards him from sin. It is not just a book of rules; it is life-giving truth, a source of joy, and a guide for living in obedience to God. As we read these verses, let us be inspired to treasure God’s Word as the psalmist did, recognizing it as the ultimate source of wisdom and strength.
In our noisy world, filled with competing voices, we must stay grounded in the Scripture. God’s Word renews our minds, transforms our hearts, and draws us closer to Him. Make time to meditate on it daily. Let it become your fountain of understanding, bringing you peace and clarity in life’s journey.

Mine, art thou to guide my feet;
Your’s, to judge, condemn, acquit.

If the Holy Spirit bless;
Mine, to show by living faith
