Bishop Oyedepo Says Fellowship With God Brings Strength

Bishop David Oyedepo has said constant fellowship with God is key to going from strength to strength, urging Christians to prioritise personal and corporate fellowship.

Oyedepo made the statement while referring to Deuteronomy 34:7, which states that Moses was 120 years old and that his eyes were not dim and his natural strength had not diminished. The mystery is constant appearance before the Lord,” he said.

The bishop urged believers to maintain a rich and personal fellowship with Jesus rather than limiting their relationship with God to Sunday church services.

“You want to go from strength to strength? Ensure a rich and personal fellowship with Jesus, not a show-off in church on Sunday and wear decorative suit. That’s not it.”

Oyedepo also encouraged Christians to fellowship with other believers. Ensure to be in fellowship with God and in fellowship with the saints. You’ll be going from strength to strength. He cited Psalm 84:7, saying, “They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeared before the Lord.

According to Oyedepo, the church is Zion, adding that appearing in God’s presence elongates days.

“So church is Zion. So appearing in God’s presence elongates days.” He repeatedly urged believers to value fellowship, both personal fellowship with God and corporate fellowship with other Christians.

“Please value fellowship. Value fellowship. Value personal fellowship and value corporate fellowship. Value fellowship.” He also spoke about his personal fellowship with God, saying, “Jesus talks to me every day. Ah, my enemies know it.”

Addressing young people, he warned against spending excessive time on their phones engaging with sports and entertainment.

You see, you’re carrying telephone around as your Bible. I can’t tell what you are reading now. I just see you pressing something. Most time you are pressing nonsense. You are pressing sports. You are pressing entertainment.

The bishop said his strength comes from spending time in God’s presence.

Every time you see me on Sunday, I’m coming from His presence. I’m coming right from His presence. This energy here is not natural. This one here is not natural.

Oyedepo concluded by quoting Psalm 84:7 and declaring that believers who appear before the Lord would go from strength to strength. That’s you. At 80, you get stronger than 40.
