            Jos Attack: Governor Mutfwang Condemns Killings, Imposes 48-Hour Curfew

The recent attack in Jos, Plateau State, has left residents shaken and mourning as news emerged of multiple lives lost in the Angwan Rukuba area. The violent incident, which occurred on Palm Sunday, turned a day of worship into one of fear and grief.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang has condemned the attack in the strongest terms, calling it barbaric and senseless. Expressing deep sorrow over the tragedy, he assured residents that the perpetrators would be pursued and brought to justice.

As part of immediate measures to restore order, the governor imposed a 48-hour curfew across affected areas of Jos North Local Government. Security agencies have been directed to increase patrols and track down those responsible for the violence.

Governor Mutfwang personally visited the scene of the attack and appealed for calm, urging communities to stay vigilant yet composed.

For Plateau State, the message is clear: he emphasized the state government’s commitment to protect residents, ensure peace, and prevent further bloodshed. While the pain of loss is real, the government is taking decisive action including swift justice and stronger security to restore hope and stability.

The government, however, assured residents that security agencies were already taking necessary measures to restore peace and track down those responsible for the attack.
