Pastor Ajetomobi Warns Couples Against Marital Conflict

Pastor Samson Ajetomobi has advised couples to handle disagreements carefully, warning that minor disputes can grow into serious marital conflicts when neither partner is willing to compromise.

He shared the experience of a couple whose argument reportedly started over a simple request. The husband had asked his wife to bring him fresh water to wash his hands after eating, but she declined and told him to get it himself.

According to Ajetomobi, the disagreement soon became a battle over who should apologise first. He said neither spouse was ready to back down, allowing the situation to worsen.

The pastor explained that the husband eventually changed the lock to their home. His wife then had to spend the night in a hotel.

Ajetomobi said the woman later approached him for help and became ready to apologise. However, he said the husband had reached a point where he no longer considered an apology sufficient to resolve the dispute.

“There is a time sorry can solve a problem. There is a time sorry will not solve a problem,” he said.

He therefore urged married couples to address disagreements before they become difficult to repair. According to him, reacting to anger with more anger can cause lasting damage to a relationship.

“Don’t do fire for fire. You might destroy what you can’t fix back,” Ajetomobi warned.

He encouraged couples to exercise restraint during disagreements and avoid allowing pride to determine how they respond to one another.
