Bishop Oyedepo Hails Pastor Kumuyi’s Global Impact at Crusade

The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has described the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, as a sage whose ministry has influenced lives around the world. He spoke on Saturday at the August edition of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi in Ota, Ogun State.

The programme, themed “Total Transformation Through Christ,” brought together worshippers for prayers, preaching and spiritual ministrations. He said he had followed Kumuyi’s ministry since its early years and remained impressed by its longevity and global influence.

“This man is a sage. Today, I am amazed by the strength, the unction and the impact of this ministry all through these years,” he said. The Living Faith founder explained that he attended the crusade to honour Kumuyi and recognise the impact of his ministry. According to Oyedepo, Kumuyi has remained a significant Christian voice whose influence extends beyond Nigeria.

“Honour must be given to whom honour is due,” he said.

Oyedepo also prayed for continued growth and grace upon Kumuyi’s ministry.

During his message, titled “How Shall We Escape, If We Neglect So Great a Salvation?”, the bishop focused on the importance of genuine salvation. He referenced Hebrews 2:3 and 2 Corinthians 13:5 while explaining that salvation should go beyond religious belief.

“Salvation is not an ideology; it is an experience,” Oyedepo said. The cleric recalled his own conversion, saying he gave his life to Christ on February 19, 1969, at the age of 15. He described the experience as a clear turning point in his life.

“There was no guesswork. I knew what took place in my life when I did,” he said.

Oyedepo identified love, joy and peace as signs that should accompany a transformed Christian life. He encouraged believers to examine their relationship with God and remain committed to His Word. The bishop also stressed the importance of spiritual discipline and obedience, particularly when Christians face temptation.

According to him, believers must be prepared to make sacrifices because valuable achievements often require commitment.

“Everything of value carries a cost. Heaven is the most valuable destination. Therefore, there are definite costs,” he said.

Kumuyi also acknowledged Oyedepo’s commitment to the Christian faith during the programme. The Deeper Life founder said their relationship began in the 1970s and had continued over the years. He described their renewed fellowship as an opportunity to strengthen their bond and anticipate greater things ahead.

“We enjoy one another fellowship as he and I are going younger at heart, we are re-establishing that fellowship, greater things are yet to come,” Kumuyi said. The crusade also featured testimonies from participants.

One of the notable accounts came from Mrs Florence Okafor, who testified about her husband, Sunday, after his 17-year battle with mental illness. The testimony formed part of several accounts shared during the four-day programme in Ota.

The Global Crusade with Kumuyi concluded on Sunday with its grand finale.
