Surrender Is Key to a Strong Marriage-Pastor Ajetomobi
Rev. Samson Ajetomobi, Founder and President of Men of Issachar Vision, has said that a believer’s level of surrender to God determines what they gain from Him. As much as you can surrender is the much of God you gain. You surrender all, you gain all of Him. You surrender a little portion, you get a little portion of Him.”
Ajetomobi said the challenge of surrender also affects marriage. He noted that refusing to surrender can cause conflict between couples.
“And you see, the challenge of surrender, it plays out in our marriages. Why do we have conflict in marriages? Nobody wants to surrender to anybody.” He also said money does not determine the success of a marriage.
So you have your money, I have my money. Money doesn’t run marriage. I have seen money fail. Everything is not about money. Ajetomobi described marriage as “one of God’s best ideas.” He noted that God started and initiated it.
“Marriage is one of God’s best ideas, and God started it, initiated it. If you belong to that kingdom, you will learn His value system for relationship. And when you follow that, your marriage will not fail.”

The cleric also questioned the idea of married people asking for personal space. How can you get married and you are asking for personal space. Who is lying to you, No married person needs a personal space. If you are single, it’s okay. You can have your personal space.”
He further criticised the expression “me time” among married people. You find strange English: ‘I want to have my me time,’ and you’re a married person. There is nothing called me time. Somebody’s lying to you.
Ajetomobi also addressed married people who ask their spouses not to disturb them because of work. I’ve been working, working. I don’t want any. You are telling your husband not to disturb you. Why did he pay dowry? He must disturb you.
Ajetomobi said married couples should understand that marriage involves sharing their lives with each other. He urged couples to embrace mutual commitment rather than approach marriage solely from the perspective of individual preferences. According to him, understanding this principle is important in building a successful marriage.
