Nigeria Plans Emergency Evacuation of its Citizens in Iran and Israel.
As tensions escalate between Israel and Iran, the Federal Government of Nigeria has announced emergency plans to evacuate Nigerian citizens stranded in both countries.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa confirmed that the government is working swiftly to coordinate a safe evacuation process for Nigerians affected by the unfolding military crisis.
“All affected Nigerian citizens are strongly advised to contact the nearest Nigerian Embassy or Mission for registration and further security instructions,” the statement urged.
The Ministry commended Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in Tel Aviv and Tehran for their continued outreach to Nigerian communities during this tense period.

“These missions have shown dedication and commitment by keeping in touch with our citizens and supporting them through these challenging times,” the statement noted.
The evacuation efforts, according to the Ministry, are being carried out in collaboration with international partners and local authorities to ensure a safe, timely, and secure relocation of Nigerians from conflict zones.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to the safety and welfare of all Nigerian citizens, both at home and abroad.
Beyond evacuation efforts, Nigeria is also using this moment to call for calm and a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The government urged all parties involved in the hostilities to:
- Cease all military actions immediately
- Engage in meaningful dialogue
- Respect international humanitarian law
- Prioritize the protection of civilians
“Nigeria stands firm in its support for peace and stability, both in the region and globally,” the Ministry stated. “We urge all involved to embrace diplomatic solutions and avoid further escalation.”
The Ministry assured that further updates on the evacuation process will be provided through official government channels. All Nigerian citizens in the affected areas are encouraged to remain vigilant and adhere strictly to safety protocols issued by the authorities.
