Police operatives rushed to the scene and evacuated the children to Aro Hospital in Agyaragu, where a doctor confirmed their deaths, suspected to be from suffocation.

Police Response & Investigation

The Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident, which bears a grim resemblance to a 2019 tragedy in Keffi where two children also died in an abandoned vehicle.

Nansel expressed deep condolences to the families while urging parents, guardians, and vehicle owners to exercise greater caution. “Children should never be left unsupervised around parked or abandoned vehicles,” he warned.

Due to the severe heat-related burns on the bodies, the remains were released to the families for burial.

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns over child safety and the dangers of neglected vehicles. Authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
