MEMORISE: “Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it; I will also do it.” Isaiah 46:11 (KJV)

READ: Genesis 21:1–8 (KJV)

1 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

2 For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.

4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac, who was eight days old, as God had commanded him.

5 And Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.

6 And Sarah said, God has made me laugh so that all who hear will laugh with me.

7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham that Sarah should have given children suckers? for I have born him a son in his old age.

8 And the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 5-6

Open Heaven 29 April 2024 MESSAGE

For someone reading this, God may have promised you many great things in the past, but you have not yet seen those things manifest. This is what happened to Abraham and Sarah. Years before, God had spoken to Abraham, promising him that he would be a father of nations. However, more than 25 years passed, and not a single child was born to somebody who was supposed to be the father of nations. Eventually, in Genesis 18, God showed up for him. I pray for you today. God will show up for you and give you that long-awaited miracle, in Jesus’ name.

I remember when I became the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, I did everything I knew in line with the word of God to make the church grow. Every month, I organize a three-day seminar. I taught the Bible, preached, fasted, and prayed. People would come for the programs, and as soon as we finished, they would vanish. When I get to the church the following Sunday, at times, the congregation will even look smaller than what we had before the programs. One day, some weeks before my birthday in 1986, God ended my barrenness.

He asked me, “What do you want for your birthday?” and I said, “I want a miracle for every member of my congregation.” That was the beginning of the Holy Ghost Service. Today, all that you see happening in RCCG is an example of what God can do whenever He decides it is time to fulfil His promise to you. I pray that before the end of this year, everyone will see clearly that God is smiling on you, in Jesus’ name.

When God makes you a promise, you can rest assured that He will keep it. However, many people have missed out on the fulfilment of God’s promise due to a lack of faith. If God promises you something and, after waiting for a while, you begin to think that God lied to you and won’t fulfil the promise, it may never come to fruition. Romans 4:20 says that Abraham did not stagger at the promise of God, even after waiting for up to 25 years.

God is a promise-keeper. However, if you want to see His promises concerning you fulfilled, you must accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, live holy, have faith, and wait patiently on Him.

Open Heaven, 29 April 2024 KEY POINT

Trust God; He is a promise-keeper. He will fulfil His promises concerning you.

Open Heaven, 29 April 2024, HYMN 30: When We Walk With The Lord

1: When we walk with the Lord
In the light of his word,
What a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his will,
He abides with us still.
and with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way.
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but it is best if we trust and obey.

But we can never prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar, we lay;
for the favour he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for those who will trust and obey.

Then, in fellowship, sweet
We will sit at his feet.
or we’ll walk by his side on the way;
what he says we will do,
Wherever he sends, we will go.
Never fear; only trust and obey.

Lord Jesus, come into my life. I accept you as my Lord and personal saviour. I believe in my heart that you died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank you, Lord, for saving me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
