Love for God Is Proof of True Salvation – Bishop Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo has spoken strongly about what he believes is the clear sign of genuine salvation. He said anyone who claims to be saved but feels nothing for God should reexamine their faith.

According to the bishop true salvation awakens a deep and natural love for God. He said this love is not forced and cannot be taught. It flows naturally from a redeemed heart.

Bishop Oyedepo explained that when a person is truly saved their desire for God comes alive. Spiritual things begin to matter. Worship prayer and the Word of God no longer feel like a burden. They become a source of joy.

He compared salvation to a fruit with many parts. Just like an orange has skin fiber seeds and juice salvation also carries key elements within it. At the center of all these elements he said is love for God.

He stressed that love is not optional. If nothing about God moves you he said then something is missing. According to him no one should be confused or pressured into believing otherwise.

The bishop also shared a personal reflection. He said he has not gone back for another salvation experience since 1969. From that moment he said his attraction to God became natural and lasting.

He explained that everything connected to God began to excite him. This he said is what redemption produces in a believer. A saved person is drawn to God because God has already drawn them in.

Bishop Oyedepo concluded by saying salvation changes the heart. When God saves a person He plants a love that grows on its own. Where that love is absent he said true salvation has not yet taken root.
