FG Gives Official Recognition to Christian Chaplain Corps
The Nigerian Christian Civil Chaplain Corps has received official recognition from the Federal Government through the Ministry of Youth Development. This represents a significant milestone for the organization, following years of dedicated service and impact in communities nationwide.
The recognition came in a formal letter dated February 16, 2026. It was sent to the corps commanding officers and officially recognized the group as a registered organization focused on youth development. The letter, signed by Augustine Udoh on behalf of the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, acknowledged the corps’ role in promoting peace, discipline, and youth development through chaplaincy and humanitarian work.
According to the ministry, the organization is now part of its National Youth Organization register. It is expected to carry out programme that support the wellbeing of young Nigerians. It will also align its activities with the government’s youth development goals.

In a statement released in Uyo, the Corps Commanding Officer, Daniel Alimi, described the recognition as a strong validation of the corps’ efforts. He said the group has spent years promoting unity, moral values, and peace through community based initiatives.
He also thanked the Federal Government for its support. In addition, he praised the leadership of Bola Tinubu for creating opportunities for citizens, especially young people, to contribute to national growth. He noted that the recognition shows the government’s commitment to inclusion and support for peace driven organizations.
In addition, Alimi thanked the minister of youth development for his efforts in advancing programme that support young people. He said such leadership helps build stronger partnerships between government and organizations like the corps.
The corps reaffirmed its commitment to its core mission. The organization said it will keep working to build discipline, unity, and peace through organized chaplaincy work and community outreach. The organization also pledged to support national security and community development through its activities.
Finally, Alimi offered prayers for the President and the ministry. He also prayed for wisdom and strength for the nations leaders as they steer the country ahead.
