Christian Leaders Celebrate PFN President Wale Oke at 70

Christian leaders, clergymen, government officials, Sword of the Spirit Ministries members and other dignitaries will gather in Ibadan as Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Presiding Bishop of the ministry and National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, celebrates his 70th birthday.

The 10-day celebration will end with a thanksgiving service on September 8 at Cornerstone City, Ibadan.

In a statement by the Media Bureau of Sword of the Spirit Ministries, the annual Holy Ghost Convention will open the celebration from Sunday, August 30 to Sunday, September 6, 2026. The convention will take place at Cornerstone City, Km 22, Ibadan-Lagos Expressway.

A Night of Tributes will hold on September 7, honouring Bishop Oke’s life, ministry and contributions to Christianity.

The celebration will reach its climax on Tuesday, September 8, with the 70th birthday thanksgiving service. Oke and his loved ones are expected to use the occasion to appreciate God for his seven decades of life and service.

The ministry described Oke as a prominent figure in Nigeria’s Pentecostal movement and an educationist with a global reputation as a Christian minister. It also highlighted his commitment to spreading the Christian faith and mentoring a new generation of Christian leaders.

According to the statement, Oke’s 70th birthday represents more than a personal milestone. The ministry said the occasion would also provide an opportunity to celebrate God’s grace upon his life and recognise his contribution to the growth and advancement of the gospel in Nigeria and beyond.
