Bishop Oyedepo Warns Against Rising Spirit of Disobedience
During Sunday service at Faith Tabernacle, Bishop David Oyedepo spoke strongly about obedience and the need for the Holy Spirit to guide believers toward fulfilling their destiny. Preaching on Engaging the Help of the Holy Spirit Towards Fulfillment of Destiny, he warned about what he called “the spirit of disobedience” spreading through families and society.
He explained that many family problems today come from ignoring God’s Word. “We need the Spirit of obedience because there is a spirit at work on the earth today called the spirit of disobedience. It takes the Spirit of obedience to overcome it,” he said.

Bishop Oyedepo added that disobedience is now common in homes, especially among couples. “Husbands, love your wives. Wives, submit to your husbands. People reject simple instructions and bring trouble upon themselves,” he said. He also criticized couples who live apart and call it modern living, describing it as “not right.”
He warned parents against sending their young children to boarding schools, calling it dangerous to their growth. “You put a child in primary school in a boarding school, and he comes out wild. He starts rejecting you as his father. Children should not be left to grow like orphans,” he said.
The Bishop urged Christians to accept correction from God’s Word with humility. “If you want to hear what you like, don’t come here. Go somewhere else. When God says you are wrong, just say ‘I’m sorry.’ Don’t explain. Restructure your life,” he advised.
He ended by sharing how he lives by God’s Word. “I am living a peaceful and fulfilled life because whatever God says excites me. I don’t have my own opinion,” he declared.
