After 16 Years, Nigerian Father Welcomes Twin Boys

A Nigerian man, Collins Egwurugwu, has publicly celebrated the arrival of his long-awaited children twin boys after 16 years of marriage. The emotional announcement, shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, has drawn widespread congratulatory messages and inspired many who have faced similar struggles.

Collins revealed that his wife gave birth on Saturday, ending a journey marked by waiting, pressure, and deep emotional challenges. Reflecting on the past years, he spoke candidly about the doubts and difficulties he and his wife endured as the years passed without children.

“Sixteen years… hmmmm,” he wrote. “It wasn’t an easy decision to stay, to hold, not to give up. Sixteen years of pain, doubts, tears, worries, anxiety, questions… I felt like I did something wrong. I asked myself, ‘What did I do?’ I attended countless child dedications.”

He described how societal pressure, family expectations, and personal fear weighed heavily on him during the period. “I prayed for forgiveness of sins; pressures everywhere. A lot came to mind. I didn’t want to walk in the path of my father. But God came through for me… He showed me mercy… He watered my seed and gave me increase. He denied the enemy their plans. God showed me grace!”

The proud father expressed overwhelming gratitude to God, his wife, and everyone who supported them through the long years of waiting. Declaring his new identity with joy, he introduced himself as “Papa Twins,” celebrating the arrival of his sons born on November 29, 2025.

“Today, I am a proud father of two baby twin boys,” Collins wrote. “I came back to give Him glory. I came back to thank Him for mercies.”

He also showered appreciation on his wife, whom he affectionately referred to as “Queen Collins,” praising her strength, resilience, and faith. He ended his post with excitement as he looked forward to dedicating the children soon.

The story has continued to spread online as many Nigerians celebrate with the couple, describing the twins’ arrival as a testimony of hope, perseverance, and divine timing.
