Nathaniel Bassey Says God Directed Him to His Wife

Popular Nigerian gospel minister and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has shared how God divinely orchestrated his marriage, revealing the remarkable story behind how he met his wife.

A Month of Prayer and Conviction

According to Bassey, their journey to marriage was one marked by faith, patience, and a deep trust in God’s timing. He explained that his wife had embarked on a month-long fast at her church themed “Two Is Better Than One.”

During the period of fasting and prayer, she strongly sensed that Bassey was the man God had chosen for her. Yet, before acting on that conviction, she asked God for an undeniable sign  one that would make His will completely clear.

The Unexpected Confirmation

The confirmation came in an unexpected way during a church service. While reading from Isaiah 64, the officiating pastor mistakenly mentioned Nathaniel Bassey’s name twice. What seemed like an ordinary slip of the tongue became, for her, a profound message from God  the exact confirmation she had prayed for.

That divine sign gave her the assurance she needed to move forward, and not long after, the couple were joined in marriage.

Trusting God’s Plan

Reflecting on the experience, Bassey encouraged believers to trust God’s leading in every aspect of life, including relationships. He emphasized that prayer, patience, and spiritual sensitivity are essential when discerning God’s will.
