Rotary Club Trains Lagos Students on Online Safety, Cyberbullying
The Rotary Club of Okota has trained students of Ijeshatedo Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, Lagos, on the importance of online safety and the dangers of cyberbullying.
The training, held under the theme “Basic Education and Literacy Project,” was designed to help students navigate the internet responsibly and prepare them for a technology-driven future.
President of the Rotary Club of Okota, Kingsley Chijioke, said the initiative aimed to inspire students and support teachers as schools resumed for a new term. He explained that the club remained committed to improving access to quality education through community-based projects that promote literacy and awareness.

Principal of Ijeshatedo Junior School, Alabi Ibikunle, praised the club’s intervention, noting that the school would build on the training by strengthening its information and communication technology unit. His counterpart at the Senior Grammar School, Kayode Ogunsanya, also commended the club for its continuous support.
Guest speaker, Dr. Abidemi Dosumu, Assistant Deputy Director at the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, said the program would help students understand how to protect themselves online and avoid the risks that come with digital exposure.
Assistant Governor, Rotary International District 9111, Francis Okpute, who oversaw the event, expressed satisfaction with the outcome and reaffirmed Rotary’s commitment to equipping young people with skills for responsible technology use.
