Insecurity: Pastor Enenche Speaks on Right to Self-Defense
Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has reminded believers that self-defense is a practical necessity and a right affirmed by both Scripture and law. Speaking during the May Blessing Sunday service at the church’s headquarters in Abuja, Pastor Enenche boldly declared that defending oneself against evil is a God-given right supported by the Nigerian Constitution, the Penal Code, and even the United Nations Charter of Human Rights.
“Self-defense is a fundamental human right. It’s in the constitution. It’s in the penal code; it’s even in the United Nations Charter of Human Rights,” he stated, citing Section 36, Subsection 5 of the Nigerian Constitution to support his point.
Pastor Enenche expressed deep concern over the worsening state of insecurity across Africa, especially Nigeria, pointing out the spiritual and physical dangers confronting many nations. He referenced a discussion with a government representative from Togo who confirmed the violent crisis affecting the northern part of the country. Similar patterns, he said, are evident in Chad and Niger Republic.

“We pray for Togo. Go to Chad, go to Niger Republic — it is all over. Father, help Africa and deliver us from this scourge,” he prayed passionately. “Nigeria and Africa, deliver us from this scourge of killers by the blood of Jesus.”
