70th Birthday: CAC President, Pastor Oladele, honoured with Service of Hymns and Worship

The 70th birthday celebration of Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, President of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), entered its third day on Thursday, August 28, 2025, with a night that blended music, worship, and heartfelt tributes in a Service of Hymns and Worship.

The program opened on a reverent note as the choir’s soft worship drew the congregation into a solemn atmosphere.

The Regional Superintendent of Babalola Region, Pastor G.S. Dada led the Opening Hymn (CACGHB 76), after which the Secretary of CAC World Evangelistic Outreach, Pastor J.O. Makinwa offered the Opening Prayer. Anchoring the flow of the evening was the Special Assistant to CAC President, Pastor T.D. Asokeji, who skillfully guided each session with grace.

The Service of Hymns unfolded in rich layers. The first session, coordinated by the Director of Administration, Pastor Tope Dada, stirred worshippers with timeless hymns (CACGHB 97, 1015, 666). This was followed by a scripture reading from Psalm 18:1–10, read by the wife of the celebrant and the Chairperson of CAC Ministers’ Wives Fellowship, Mrs. S.K. Oladele. More hymn sessions, led by various ministers, deepened the atmosphere of reverence, punctuated by a captivating trumpet solo, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, rendered by Mayowa Ogundipe.

Tributes soon flowed, painting vivid pictures of Pastor Oladele’s life and ministry. Among the highlights was a moving solo, Orisun mi ni Jesu, anchored by legal luminary and CAC Music Director, Bar. Abidemi Oyesanya (SAN).

The evening’s exhortation, preached by the Superintendent of CAC Ogudu Zone, Pastor C.A.S. Daramola, centered on Psalm 18:35 with the theme “Thy Gentleness Has Made Me Great.” He charged the celebrant to remain a bridge between the older and younger generations of ministers, to continue walking in forgiveness, and to prepare for the lasting legacy God has entrusted to him.

Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji, the CAC General Evangelist, led a solemn prayer for Pastor Oladele and his family, while other sessions of hymns and worship continued, culminating in heartfelt recognitions and appreciation. Among the dignitaries present were CAC leaders, family members, and friends from within and outside Nigeria, including The Olatunji family from Florida. The night drew to a close with the hymn “Keep Close to Jesus All the Way” and a benediction pronounced by the CAC General Superintendent, Pastor Emmanuel O. Odejobi.

It was more than a birthday event it was a testimony of a man whose life has been interwoven with worship, scripture, and service to God. At 70, Pastor Oladele’s legacy continues to resound, much like the hymns that filled the hall that night.
