Victoria Orenze: “Nigerians Must Pray, Not Rely on America”
Gospel minister Victoria Orenze has called on Nigerians to return to God in earnest prayer, insisting that the nation’s hope will not come from foreign governments but from divine intervention.
In a post shared on her X page, the worship leader expressed concern over what she described as a growing dependence on political structures, foreign aid, and Western nations especially the United States to fix Nigeria’s challenges. She warned that placing confidence in external powers will only lead to deeper disappointment.
Orenze urged Christians across the country to stand together in intercession, saying that true and lasting change must begin in the place of prayer. According to her, Nigeria needs a spiritual awakening more than it needs international support.

She explained that while advocacy, reforms, and leadership are important, they cannot replace the role of consistent prayer in shaping the nation’s future. Only God, she said, can bring the healing and renewal Nigeria desperately needs.
Her message quickly gained traction online, drawing support from many believers who echoed her call for nationwide prayer and spiritual vigilance. Many agreed that Nigeria’s destiny is tied not to global alliances but to the commitment of its people to seek God.
Victoria Orenze remains a strong voice in Nigeria’s gospel community, known for her passionate messages on revival, holiness, and intimacy with God. Through her music and ministry, she continues to inspire thousands to pursue a deeper walk with Christ and to pray for national transformation.
