EXPOSITION:
The waiting period is a crucial period in life where one cannot predict when God’s promises will be fulfilled. In the text, God promised Abram a son from his own body (Genesis 15:4), but despite this assurance, Abram still yielded to his wife’s voice. This decision has long-term consequences that could affect generations to come. Despite this, God’s mercy continued to reassure Abraham, and Sarah gave birth to a son (Isaac: “Laughter”) at the exact time God had set (Genesis 21:2).

Being late in keeping promises may happen when agreed meeting times are not respected by parties involved. Saul, for instance, was instructed to wait for 7 days but offered sacrifices before the end of the appointed time (1 Samuel 10:8,13:9-11). To prevent questioning God’s timing, recall His promises and be active during the waiting period (Psalm 27:14). To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1). This interval is an opportunity for action, as idleness can lead to trouble. Use this waiting time wisely, trusting in God’s perfect timing.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, help me to maximize my waiting period.
