Pastor Speaks Out on Global Church Persecution

When I Shared My Struggles with Apostle Arome Osayi

I had always heard about Apostle Arome Osayi, but it wasn’t until I met him in the United States that I truly understood the grace upon his life. After our meeting, I became familiar with his ministry, and during one of our conversations, I opened up to him about the persecution I’ve been facing from churches in Nigeria.

I explained how I was invited to Canada to preach, not that I went on my own. I’m not a young man; look at me. They told me to buy my ticket, assuring me that once I arrived and received an honorarium, everything would be settled. I spent $8,000 (₦16,000,000) flying business class, and my wife traveled with me. But when I got there, I was told they had received an instruction from Nigeria that I should not be allowed to preach. I was turned back. To this day, where is my money?

A few days later, I traveled to Cape Town for another invitation. When I arrived, I was told again that PFN had issued an instruction that I should not be allowed to preach. But this time, the host pastor refused to bow to the pressure. He said, “PFN will not heal the sick people in my church. PFN will not save sinners here. PFN will not cast out demons for those who need deliverance. How many dead people has PFN raised? This man of God must preach.” He stood his ground, even though they threatened to excommunicate him from PFN. He said he was ready to leave if that was the price.

So when I told Apostle Osayi all I was going through, that these people were following me from nation to nation just to waste my money, my time, and disgrace me, he told me he had suffered the same persecution. And for the first time, I felt a measure of relief, knowing I had found a partner in hardship.

The truth is this: we are in serious trouble. Anyone speaking the truth today is being persecuted. Maggots will never love those who remove filth. They survive in the rot; it is their life. So when you confront the filth, the maggots revolt.

Those who profit from the decay, who have built names and bought private jets by commercializing Christianity, will never welcome voices that expose the rot. But this is a long battle, and I am not going to keep quiet.
