Pastor Nathaniel Explains Why He Shuns Halleluyah Challenge Monetization

The worship event, which began in 2017, is held twice every year and brings together thousands of believers, including pastors and gospel ministers from around the world.

Speaking during Thursday’s session, Bassey warned worshippers about fraudsters creating fake YouTube pages to exploit viewers. He said these impostors copy his live sessions to divert followers and make money from them.

“There are people who join the Halleluyah Challenge through fake YouTube pages,” he said. “Because I chose not to monetize the program, some scammers clone our page and stream it just to make money.”

The singer stressed that his official and only YouTube page is NathanielBasseymain, adding that any other page is fake. He urged followers to be alert and connect only through verified platforms.

Bassey also addressed criticism over his decision, saying it was led by divine instruction, not financial reasoning. “They have said all sorts of things. When you monetize, they say you are after money. When you don’t, they say you are proud,” he said. “I am not led to monetize it. God will bless us in other ways.”

The gospel artist assured fans that the Halleluyah Challenge would remain a free platform dedicated to worship and spiritual connection.
