Oyedepo Warns Against “Spiritual Vacation” at Shiloh 2025

Bishop David Oyedepo has cautioned believers against what he described as “spiritual vacation,” warning that spiritual disengagement carries serious risks for anyone seeking victory and direction in life.

Speaking at the Shiloh 2025 Thanksgiving Service held on December 14 at Faith Tabernacle, Canaan land, the Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church urged worshippers to remain spiritually alert, especially during the festive season when travel and distractions increase.

According to him, spiritual emptiness weakens believers and limits their ability to take charge of life’s outcomes. He stressed that this season is crucial for laying spiritual foundations for the year ahead, calling on Christians to deliberately invest time in God’s presence, consistent study of the Word, and fellowship with other believers wherever they may find themselves.

Oyedepo emphasized that spiritual growth is not accidental but intentional, adding that remaining connected to church life, even while travelling, helps believers stay spiritually robust and positioned for success.

He further reassured congregants of divine protection, declaring safety in all forms of movement by road, air, or sea. He pronounced prophetic blessings against accidents, robbery, breakdowns, and every form of disruption, declaring the season a time of celebration for God’s people.

Reflecting on his long-standing ministry principles, Oyedepo disclosed that neither he nor his wife has earned personal income from book sales since 1985. He explained that their books are not commercial tools but vehicles for spreading divine revelation, noting that proceeds are reinvested solely into producing more materials for wider impact.

He also challenged believers to take personal responsibility for their lives, stressing that outcomes are not determined by systems or circumstances but by individual obedience to God’s Word.

“My son, you are absolutely responsible for the outcome of your life,” he recalled God telling him, urging worshippers to give meaning and color to their lives by laying hold of revealed truth.

Oyedepo concluded with prayers for supernatural turnarounds, declaring the dissolution of negative medical reports and the removal of every seeming impossibility, as he encouraged believers to study the Word diligently and apply it for lasting results.
