Oyedepo Opens Up on Writing Without Financial Gain

Bishop David Oyedepo has revealed that despite writing many books, he has never earned a dime from them. The founder of Living Faith Church said his passion has never been about money but about spreading light through knowledge.

“I have not taken one dime from books in my life since 1985,” Oyedepo stated. “I just love to share knowledge. I hunger for it myself. I read daily.”

Speaking to his congregation, the cleric explained that spiritual growth demands deliberate effort. “You cannot be revealed until you are strong in the spirit, and you cannot grow strong without putting in the work,” he said.

Oyedepo encouraged believers to give themselves fully to study and mentorship. He recalled how he followed the teachings of Kenneth E. Hagin for more than twenty years. “Study those things that help you gain command,” he urged.

He used simple imagery to describe maturity in faith. “When a child knocks, you can tell. But when a strong man speaks, his voice carries authority. That is how the sound of maturity speaks in the gates of hell,” he said.

The bishop urged members to take advantage of the rich resources within the church to build their spiritual strength. “You are privileged to have access to materials that can equip you for what God has ordained you to be,” he noted.

He concluded with a heartfelt reminder. “I am not a bookseller. My joy is in helping others grow through knowledge. It is time to grow up and invest in what builds you.”
