Opelope Anointing: Why I Offer Free Healthcare to the Poor
Gospel singer Dunni Olanrewaju, widely known as Opelope Anointing, has shared why she continues to offer free healthcare services to those who can’t afford it.
She says the poor state of medical care in Nigeria, especially in rural areas, deeply troubles her. The rising number of people without access to proper treatment and essential medication has stirred her to act.
“Spiritual healing is a big part of what I do, but physical healing matters just as much,” she told Sunday Scoop. “You can’t fully enjoy God’s blessings if your body is broken.”
For years, Opelope Anointing has gone beyond music to serve the sick and needy. Through her foundation, she runs an annual free medical outreach offering checkups, treatment, and essential drugs to the underserved.

This year’s outreach is particularly special. It coincides with the 25th anniversary of her breakout gospel hit, Opelope Anointing. The event, set for July 7 in Lagos, is being organised alongside the Opelope Anointing Fans Club.
More than just a medical mission, the programme aims to bring hope. Organisers say attendees will benefit from free health services and vital health education.
“God has been faithful to me for over two decades. Giving back like this is my way of saying thank you,” she said.
Opelope Anointing continues to blend music and ministry with meaningful impact proving that healing comes in many forms.
