God Told Me Not to Take Offerings – Pastor Isaac Oyedepo

Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, founder of Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries, has announced that his ministry will not collect offerings during its Sunday services. He said this decision came directly from God.
Oyedepo made the announcement in a video message shared online on Sunday, January 11. The message was later reported by Church Times.
In the video, the pastor revealed that his ministry will soon begin holding weekly Sunday services in Abuja. He explained that the vision behind the services is clear and focused on discipleship rather than money.
According to Oyedepo, God specifically instructed him not to collect offerings for this assignment. He made it clear that this instruction applies only to his ministry and should not be seen as criticism of others.
He explained that there is nothing wrong with collecting offerings in churches. However, for this work, he believes God wants his full attention on teaching, mentoring and building believers spiritually.

Oyedepo said the mission of the ministry is to help people truly follow Jesus and grow in their faith. He described the work as a journey of learning and living out the Word of God.
During the broadcast, he said his approach is inspired by the early ministry of Jesus Christ. He explained that Jesus focused on making disciples and preparing them spiritually before anything else.
He said spiritual growth does not happen overnight. It requires steady teaching, deep study of Scripture and a strong commitment to God’s Word.
Oyedepo also questioned the current state of the church and challenged believers to reflect on their depth in Scripture. He asked how strong churches would become if members truly understood and lived by the Bible.
The announcement has drawn attention online, especially as conversations continue around church finance and accountability. Oyedepo’s message presents a different approach, one he says is guided strictly by divine instruction.
The Abuja Sunday services are expected to begin soon, with a focus on teaching, discipleship and spiritual growth, without any collection of offerings.
