Femi Lazarus Plans Trust Fund for Pregnant Teens
Nigerian cleric, Femi Lazarus, has unveiled plans to set up a trust fund to support girls facing teenage pregnancy across Nigeria.
The proposed initiative is still in development. It aims to provide financial aid, access to education and professional counseling for vulnerable teenage mothers. Many of them battle stigma, rejection and shrinking opportunities after unplanned pregnancies.
Speaking on the vision behind the project, Lazarus said the church and society must shift from condemnation to compassion. He stressed the need for structured support systems that help young girls rebuild their lives rather than suffer in silence.
According to him, several pregnant teenagers are left without emotional and financial backing. The lack of support often forces them out of school and limits their chances of building stable futures.

Teenage pregnancy remains a pressing social issue in many Nigerian communities. In underserved areas, limited access to reproductive health education and economic empowerment worsens the situation.
Without targeted intervention, experts warn that many young mothers may drop out of school permanently, struggle financially and face social isolation.
Although the official launch date and funding structure have not been announced, the proposal has already sparked debate. Many observers say faith-based institutions have a critical role to play in addressing teenage pregnancy in Nigeria and supporting young mothers through practical solutions.
