ERIO 2025: You can be Delivered by Pastor G.O. Obiwale

ERIO POWER EXPLOSION 2025

LECTURE TITLE: YOU CAN BE DELIVERED BY PASTOR GIDEON OBIWALE

Let me start this message by telling you something personal. Not everything is prayer and fasting. Ah, yes, I said it. Before you throw your anointing oil at me, just hear me out. There are problems in life that don’t need 21-day dry fasting; they need common sense, exposure, and wisdom. Some problems need you to adjust your mindset, not bind your village people.

I was once barren for 11 years. Yes, you heard me. A whole me. A pastor o! Preaching fire on the altar, shaking crusade grounds, casting and binding demons, yet I couldn’t cast out barrenness from my own house. I prayed. I fasted. I quoted Scripture like a talking Bible. But nothing changed.

One day, someone asked me, “Pastor, do you know your wife’s ovulation period?” I said, “Ovulation kwa? What is that?” Imagine! I didn’t even know when my own wife was fertile. I was more anointed in ministry than in my marriage. I was laying hands on strangers but not laying understanding on my home. Ministry was booming, but my home was a desert.

I thought God was delaying me. But God was looking at me like, “My son, knowledge is part of deliverance. Go and sit down.”

Let me tell you something. Evil is not just when witches gather at midnight. Evil is anything that contradicts the will and plan of God for your life. Evil is when you’re supposed to marry at 27 but you’re still praying for a spouse at 57 because you “wanted to focus on your education” and now you’re printing wedding invitation in your menopausal season. Don’t get me wrong; education is good, but don’t use school fees to buy delay.

Let me simplify it for you; evil, is not only a demon flying in the night. Evil is anything working against the will and policy of God. When God says be fruitful and you are unfruitful, that’s evil. When time is passing and you are wasting it, that’s evil. Like one sister who said, “I want to finish school before I marry.” She finished at 33, did master’s at 38, PhD at 45. Now she’s praying, “Oh Lord, send me a husband!” My sister, it’s not prayer you need, it’s calendar and planning. God is not wicked; we are sometimes just unserious.

Same with the brothers. Some of you want to hammer first before marriage. Now you’re 65, looking for a virgin in youth fellowship. When will you play football with your children? Or is it walking stick football you plan to play? You want to marry at 60. Uncle, when will you carry your child? At 75? When will you attend PTA meeting? Evil is also delay. Time wasted is life wasted.

Sometimes, the evil we need deliverance from is our own bad decision-making. I was praying for fruit of the womb, but I wasn’t even planting seed correctly; literally and figuratively. My focus was on pulpit, not pillow talk. After 9 years of barrenness, someone sat me down and taught me biology again. Imagine, a whole me that passed Biology in WAEC. Exposure came late, but thank God it came.

I was running ministry like a marathon. House to house revival, mountain to mountain crusade. My wife? I left her with anointing oil and holy water, hoping for a miracle. Until one day, in the ninth year of our barrenness, an elderly woman called me and said, “Pastor, you are busy casting out demons, but your house is under spiritual and medical ignorance. Go and learn.”

After those long 11 years of barrenness, God finally showed us mercy. My first wife gave birth; yes, she did. The same woman I had overlooked while chasing ministry fire gave me my first child. But by that time, I had already begun to learn my lesson. I realized that ministry is not a substitute for marriage.

I started to prioritize my home. I became a husband in reality, not just by title. I stopped leaving my wife in the cold while I was busy casting out demons everywhere. I sat down and asked questions. I read. I got exposed. I found out that there were things I needed to know as a man; not as a pastor to build my family.

And let me tell you, once I made that shift, peace entered my house like never before. My ego began to melt, and I finally understood that not every problem is solved on the mountain. Some issues are solved in the living room, with intentional love and open conversation. I’m still in ministry, but now, I’m doing it as a whole man; not a broken one. And that made all the difference

Listen, you can be delivered. But are you willing to be truthful with yourself? Are you ready to change? Deliverance starts when you admit something needs to shift in your life.

So, what is deliverance really?

It’s freedom from anything that limits or enslaves you. Sometimes it’s spiritual; demons, curses, generational yokes. Sometimes it’s practical; lack of knowledge, fear, disorganization, bad choices. You can’t rebuke what you keep tolerating. You can’t cast out what you keep covering.

Some people are broke, and it’s not because of ancestral curses. It’s because they spend like drunk kings. You’re praying for financial breakthrough but buying things you don’t need to impress people who don’t care. You don’t need deliverance; you need budgeting.

Some ladies are still single because every time a serious brother comes, you say, “God has not spoken.” Sister, God has spoken through his Word. He who finds a wife… not he who finds a slay queen. Don’t let filters filter out your future. Marry purpose, not packaging.

Some people’s problems are not demonic; they’re a lack of exposure. You’re in 2025, but your mind is still in 1972. Everything is evil to you; social media is evil, online church is evil, education is evil, anything new is evil. Meanwhile, you’re praying to break limitations.

I’m not mocking you. I’ve been there. I cried, I prayed, I fasted, but nothing changed until I changed. When I submitted to truth, healing came. When I prioritized my family, peace returned. When I got educated about things I once ignored, breakthrough came.

Let’s be real

Deliverance means stepping out of darkness into light; the light of knowledge, the light of truth, the light of accountability. Jesus came to set us free, but many are still in prison because they won’t walk out of the open cell.

If you’re addicted to sin, you need deliverance.

If you’re afraid of progress, you need deliverance.

If you keep blaming witches for everything, but refuse to learn new things, you need deliverance.

If you’re spiritually sound but emotionally wounded, you need deliverance.

And if you always say “I will never forgive,” then my brother, my sister, you are not delivered yet.

You can be delivered

Jesus has the power to set you free; from fear, from frustration, from failure. But He won’t drag you by force. You must come willingly. You must be honest enough to say, “Lord, I’ve messed up. Show me the way.”

I’m a living testimony that it’s not too late to start again. I thought my case was over, but God rewrote my story. He can rewrite yours too.

Are you barren? He can make you fruitful.

Are you delayed? He can restore your lost years.

Are you confused? He can give you direction.

But first, you must let go of excuses. Enough of blaming the devil for everything. Sometimes, the devil is just watching you mismanage your own life and laughing.

Take the bold step today. Return to God. Fix what needs to be fixed. Learn what needs to be learned. And if you need help, ask. Don’t let pride keep you in bondage.

God is still delivering people. Why not you?

You can be delivered, oh yes! But deliverance is not magic. It’s partnership with God and responsibility on your part. There are things you must do. Identify with Jesus Christ. He is the Deliverer, not your uncle in politics. Cry out to Him, pray, fast, yes. But also, get sense. Focus on Christ, but also carry your brain along. Some problems are not spiritual; they are structural.

Imagine someone saying “Pastor, my business is not growing.” I asked him, “Do you have POS?” He said no. “Do you take transfer?” He said no. “Do you advertise?” He said no. I said, “Your problem is not a witch, it’s your laziness.” Deliverance from financial ignorance is still deliverance.

When you are addicted to sin, that’s when you need deliverance. When you feel stuck in life, that’s a sign. When you are constantly sick, always confused, always afraid; those are red flags. Evil loves to hide behind ignorance, fear, pride and disobedience.

Sometimes, what you need is to re-adjust, not to re-pray. You are shouting “Holy Ghost fire!” but you are the one pouring water on your destiny with bad decisions. God is faithful. He is ready to deliver, but are you willing?

Let me close with this: Fear kills faster than death. Some of you are not bound by demons but by fear. You’ve convinced yourself that nothing good can come. That is the biggest lie from hell. Jesus has given you power. Colossians 1:16-19 says He rules over all things. Whether it’s physical chains or mental blocks, He is more than able.

But please, help God help you. Family first, ministry second. Knowledge first, assumptions later. Plan first, prayer next. Walk in wisdom, not just in wonder. This life is not rehearsal. Take steps today. You can be delivered.

Don’t wait until your enemy writes your destiny. God already wrote yours; it’s called freedom. Claim it!

Let somebody shout, “I am delivered already!”
