Delta Governor Ushers at Shiloh 2025, Social Media Reacts

A video showing the Delta State governor performing ushering duties at the ongoing Shiloh 2025 program has sparked widespread reactions on social media.

The annual program is organized by Living Faith Church, widely known as Winners Chapel, in Ota, Ogun State.

In the video, the governor is seen standing alongside other church ushers while the service was in progress. The moment quickly gained attention online and triggered conversations across different platforms.

Many Nigerians praised the governor’s action, describing it as a show of humility and commitment to service. Supporters said the act reflected a belief that faith and leadership can coexist without conflict.

Some commentators explained that serving in church departments is a long standing practice within Living Faith Church. They noted that members are encouraged to serve regardless of their social status, profession or political position.

Others added that the governor was not performing an unusual role but simply carrying out responsibilities assigned to him within the church. According to them, such service is normal and deeply rooted in the church’s teachings on humility and dedication.

Several reactions dismissed criticism surrounding the video, insisting that church service should not be politicized. They argued that personal faith should not be judged through the lens of public office.

However, the video also attracted critical responses. Some viewers questioned the heavy security presence around the governor during the service, describing it as distracting within a place of worship.

Others went further to raise concerns about the intersection of religion and politics in Nigeria. They suggested that appearances by political leaders at major religious events often generate debate about public image and influence.

Despite the mixed reactions, the video continued to trend online, keeping discussions active across social media. While some saw the moment as inspiring, others viewed it through a more critical lens.

Shiloh is the annual faith gathering of Living Faith Church and attracts worshippers from Nigeria and other parts of the world. Each year, the event draws public figures, church members and visitors who take part in various spiritual activities.

The governor’s appearance and participation at the event have once again highlighted how actions taken in religious spaces can quickly become subjects of national conversation.
