Covenant University has achieved another global milestone. The ranking assessed 749 universities from 92 countries out of 1,023 submissions.

The announcement came shortly after the institution’s 20th Convocation ceremony, held on Friday, October 10, 2025. A total of 1,649 students earned first degrees, with 357 graduating with first class honors. Another 233 students obtained higher degrees, including 45 PhD holders.

Speaking about the achievement, the Chancellor, Bishop David Oyedepo, described the success as proof of divine guidance and excellence at work. “Everything works in this Commission,” he said during Sunday’s service. “Covenant University has been running stress free, ache free, begging free, and struggle free, yet flying all over the world without sweat. When God leads, He backs up the led to deliver the task.”

He further emphasized that Covenant University’s progress is a testament to Africa’s potential when driven by purpose and divine wisdom. “Many think great things can’t be done in Africa,” Oyedepo said. “But is Covenant University not doing it? By the hand of God, we are number 73 in the world. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

The Bishop urged Africans to abandon the slavery mentality and embrace a mindset of dominion and innovation. He added that the ongoing Ark Legacy Project, a massive faith driven infrastructure, continues without foreign financial input.

Covenant University’s latest recognition strengthens its reputation as a leading center for research, innovation, and leadership development in Africa. It also reinforces its founding vision to raise a new generation of leaders equipped to transform the continent and the world.
