Cleric Urges Christians, Muslims to Pray for Nigeria Peace
The Planter of Christ Apostolic Church Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, has urged Christians and Muslims to unite in prayer for Nigeria’s peace ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The cleric made the appeal as Ramadan and Lent coincide, describing the season as a rare moment for national reflection. He said the period of fasting should inspire unity, tolerance and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.
In a statement issued by his aide, Hon. Deji Ogunbusuyi, Alo stressed that Nigeria stands at a critical political crossroads. He said the approaching 2027 polls will test the country’s democratic maturity and social cohesion.
According to him, prayer remains a powerful tool in shaping the nation’s future. He called on citizens to seek divine guidance for political leaders, the electoral process and the stability of the country.
Alo warned against violence, hate speech and divisive rhetoric as political activities gather momentum. He said peace, love and harmony are essential for credible elections and sustainable development.

The prophet also extended goodwill to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governors in the South-West, with special mention of Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State. He encouraged political leaders and traditional rulers to place national interest above personal ambition during the fasting season.
He advised those in authority to priorities citizens’ welfare and strengthen justice and equity across the federation. Such steps, he said, would rebuild public trust and create an environment where democracy can thrive.
As Nigeria prepares for another electoral cycle, the cleric maintained that sustained interfaith prayer and unity could lay the foundation for peaceful, credible and transparent elections in 2027.
