Church Silence on Killings Alarms Pastor Femi Emmanuel

Pastor Femi Emmanuel Criticizes Silent Church Leaders, Urges Trump to Intervene in Ongoing Killings

Pastor Femi Emmanuel has faulted senior Christian leaders in Nigeria for what he described as their “dangerous silence” regarding the ongoing attacks and alleged genocide against Christian communities in the country.

Speaking during a recent teaching session, the popular cleric expressed disappointment over the failure of influential pastors and church leaders to publicly condemn the killings or demand decisive government action. He warned that such silence at a critical time could be interpreted as indifference or compromise.

“The church cannot afford to keep quiet when innocent people are being slaughtered,” he said, stressing that moral leadership is most needed when human lives are at stake.

Calls on Donald Trump for International Support

Pastor Emmanuel also directed an appeal to former United States President Donald Trump, urging him to use his international influence to draw global attention to the crisis. According to him, swift international advocacy could help pressure world leaders and humanitarian organizations to intervene.

He noted that global partnerships and diplomatic pressure have proven effective in similar crises around the world and should not be overlooked in Nigeria’s case.

Public Reaction

The pastor’s remarks have sparked intense debate online, with many Nigerians commending his boldness and calling for more outspoken clergy. Others questioned the involvement of foreign political figures in the country’s security challenges but acknowledged the urgency of the situation.

Despite the mixed reactions, Pastor Emmanuel maintained that silence in the face of bloodshed is unacceptable. He emphasized that the protection of vulnerable communities must take precedence over political sensitivities.
