CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH THE LIVING WATER

DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE ; Friday, August 15, 2025.

TOPIC:   HONOURING GOD WITH YOUR BODY

MEMORISE

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:36).

READ:
1 Corinthians 16:19, 20

[19]. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

[20]. For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

EXPOSITION

The past 2 days marked a significant convergence of two observances: World Organ Donation Day and International Left Handers’ Day. Both provide opportunities to reflect on our physical bodies and how we steward them for God’s glory. Today, we delve into the profound implications of honouring God with our bodies.

As God’s temples (1 Cor. 6:19-20), our physical selves are sacred, deserving of reverence and care, hence the need to treat our bodies with respect and responsibility. Just as we wouldn’t defile a holy sanctuary, we should strive to maintain our bodies in the manner that honours God. Just as every organ in our bodies serves a specific function, so too do individuals within the body of Christ possess unique roles and abilities (1 Cor. 12:12-27).

Moreover, we should rejoice in Christ that while our physical bodies may face challenges, we find ultimate freedom in Christ (Jn. 8:36). As we honour God with our bodies, let us also rejoice in the freedom found by faith in Jesus Christ. May His grace never abandon us. Amen.

PRAYER POINTS

1. May I always honour You, Lord Jesus, with my body.

2. Lord, help us to duly appreciate the sacredness of each person and the freedom we find in Christ.

3. Jesus, let my life be a testament to Your love and grace as we live out the Truth of Your Word.
