CAC Vows Swift Resolution to Stamp Duty Payment Glitches
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has assured the public that ongoing challenges with stamp duty payments on its online portal will soon be resolved. The commission attributed the issues to the recent deployment of an upgraded digital platform, which it says is more advanced than those used by its partner agencies.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, CAC acknowledged the frustration experienced by users and emphasised that engineers from the commission and relevant agencies are working urgently to fix the issue.
“We are aware of the difficulties some of our valued customers are facing in making stamp duty payments through our portal. Please be assured that this matter is receiving the urgent attention of engineers from both agencies involved, and a permanent solution is almost in place,” the statement read.

The CAC explained that the upgrade is part of its broader digital transformation initiative aimed at enhancing the speed, efficiency, and user experience of its services.
To ease the transition, the commission encouraged users to remain patient, noting that the temporary disruption will pave the way for improved service delivery.
As part of the digital overhaul, the commission revealed that it would soon launch a new AI-powered post-incorporation system for business names. The first feature filing of annual returns is expected to go live as early as the coming weekend.
“In addition, we are finalising a newly simplified, AI-driven post-incorporation system for business names, including the filing of annual returns,” the CAC stated.
The commission apologised for any inconvenience caused by the glitches and reiterated its commitment to delivering efficient, technology-driven services.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and support as we work to serve you better,” the statement concluded.
