Prophet Abiara Seeks Better Welfare for Nigerian Soldiers
According to Punch News, Prophet Samuel Abiara urged President Bola Tinubu to improve Nigerian soldiers’ welfare after the rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State.
Abiara congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on the rescue after 56 days in captivity.
He praised Tinubu’s efforts against insecurity and described the operation as proof of the government’s commitment to fighting crime.
Abiara said soldiers battling terrorists and bandits need better welfare and working conditions.
He also urged the President to support families of fallen security officers, saying their sacrifices should be honoured.

He said, “We must support the children and spouses of fallen officers. Our soldiers risk everything under the President’s command. The government should increase their salaries and make their welfare a top priority so they can carry out their duties with confidence.”
He urged the Federal Government to review the salaries, allowances and welfare packages of security personnel, adding that better conditions would boost their morale and improve their effectiveness.
The cleric also called on Nigerians to remain hopeful despite the country’s security challenges. He argued that insecurity remains a global issue that has affected several developed nations.
Abiara noted that countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom and France had faced serious security threats but eventually overcame them.
He linked the current challenges to biblical warnings about difficult times, saying periods of violence and moral decline have appeared throughout history.

“Let everyone keep their hearts at peace. Nigeria will overcome this phase, and it will soon be a forgotten story,” he said.
Abiara also appreciated Christians, Muslims and traditional worshippers for joining hands in prayer during the period the children remained in captivity.
He noted that people from different faiths and ethnic backgrounds joined together in prayer during the crisis, adding that the nation witnessed the safe return of the children through God’s intervention.
He congratulated Governor Makinde and the people of Oyo State over the safe return of the abductees. The cleric expressed confidence that continued security efforts would weaken criminal groups across Nigeria.
